Default 285/xx/16 on stock rims

Anyone running a 285/70/16 or 285/65/16 on stock 16's? Thinking about getting a set of Yokohama AVS ST or Pirelli Scorpion Zeros. I want to go with 285's in the rear for traction purposes, specially wet traction. Wife is having trouble driving on wet roads with the stall. And it is going to get worse with the new gears.

The 285/70/16 Yokohamas boast a 8.9" contact patch and the smaller 265/70/16 is 8.3".

Also, would 285's look funny up front? The problem with changing to a more narrow tire is the tire hieght change. Going from a 285 to a 265 is about an inch drop in height using the same aspect ratio. And from a 285 to a 245 is about two inches.

What are your opinions? Pirelli is a bit expensive. But if it keeps the wife between the ditches, its worth it.

Is it 2wd, or 4wd? I know the 285/70/16's will fit on the stock rims. Hell, Ive seen 305/70's on stock rims before. But they were on a 4wd.

How did I manage to put this in the Dodge section? Please move to truck stop or Gm section.
But yes, it is a 2wd and stock ride height. The Yokohamas 285/70/16 are a little tall at 31.8". The Pirreli's are like 30.6" for the 65 aspect ratio, but the reviews I have read give them poor tread life. I do not really mind replacing tires every 20-24k, but 12-14k is a bit extreme.
The General Grabbers UHP look like a good tire and there is a comparable size available. Along with the Generals, I see that Goodyear Eagle II also has a similar size, but it seems to have mixed reviews, specially in wet conditions.
