Default 4th gen 2500 diy traction bar help

Hello, I'm working on building a set of traction bars for the 2011 2500 crewcab longbed. It has a stainless diesel 2nd gen kit with S465/83 1.0ar. About to put some 80% injectors in it. It has a set helper air bags so I dont have alot of room to work with. I picked this up from ballistic fabrication.

Was planning to replace the lower mount for the air bags with it and have the bars mounted to it. The bars will be about 66" link to link. But the bars will be just below the middle point of the axle and about 2" forward. Will this work or do I need to alter the mounts for the bars to make them a little lower?

I have the one for the 3.5" axle. I have a 4" axle so I have to modify it anyway.

I believe the mounting point needs to be under the axle in order to minimise the axle from rotating.

I think that part was designed to mount a shock off the back or front of the axle.

Ah, that make since as to what it was originally designed for.

I didn't realize how much the axles rotated on these diesels until we tried to find a clunk and binding issue on a lifted one that my friend bough. then we compared to mine that wasn't lifted. I have been contemplating on doing a set for mine just haven't committed as I rarely drive mine.

Yup, just about every brand of diesel truck on leaf springs does that.

Started working on the bars last night. I made a metal top to go on my workbench to make it a bit easier. Just some 1x1x1/8 steel square for the frame and 2x3/16 strips going across. Then took a 2x2x1/8 angle and welded them to form an X for the bar to sit on and I can easily rotate it while I'm welding it.only got 1 end link welded up before I ran out of shielding gas. Going to pick some more up in the morning and finish the bars. The new brackets will be here today and will have the bars on by tonight.

And one of my practice welds

I'm not the best welder but it'll hold. I tacked it in 4 spots then welded from one rack to the next. Rustoleum self etching primer And some fire engine red I'm starting a new job tomorrow so I may have to wait another week or 2 to get them onto the truck.
