Default A518-46re Shifting Problems

First of Mama has a 96 Indy Ram. Mama's trans is not wanting to shift into 2nd or 3rd without being manually shifted. When it's in OD and you mash it it just revs to the limiter without going into a specific gear. Is the trans shot or is there ANYthing I can do to not have to buy a remanned one.

It could be a shift solenoid or transducer problem. I would recommend to have the dealer run a computer diagnostic check on it to verify the problem. It will cost a little money but it may save some money and worry. The reason I suggest the dealer they have the equipment to read everything possible in the computer.
