Urban legend says 15%-20% loss, 2wd, dependant on the rear end.
And, 20%-25% loss thru a 4x4, dependant on the rear end.

Mine is an old school big cast iron NP205 running 80-90w gear oil. I thought it was like running a manul transmission. The gears inside turn all the time. Does anyone know how much hp a manul trans takes to turn?

Given the same car there is about a 15rwhp difference between a 4L60e car and a T56 car, add a loose converter in the A4 and the margin gets even larger.
