Dynojet inflated numbers? I knoiw my Dynojet shop has a loaded setup using a brake of sorts. Maybe some Dynojet models are unloaded and not all?

I know some NASCAR teams in the Atlanta area use this same shop. I thaught Mustang dynos were the one that read more then the standard. Only by what I read here and there anyway. I'm no dynomometer expert.

yes inflated numbers... some dyno jets have a simulated brake not an actual load but the majority of the dyno jet dont have the simulated brake..

First of all, every dyno reads a little different and then there is "correction" to deal with as well.
Second, a dyno is a tuning tool, used to measure gains (or losses) from modifications or tuning.

The true measure of power is done on the street or the track

i concur totally. my initial tune was to lean so we put it on the "mustang chassis dyno" to read the A/F. i really could careless about numbers really.
i have seen a dyno run that said a 5.90 car only made 300hp to the rear
i was hoping for a 5.90 in my daily "truck" too LOLOLOL

The dyno jet with simulated brake is meant to apply a brake to the dyno so that it creates a load on your engine. Otherwise it's like jacking your truck off the ground and seeing how you without a load.

A mustang dyno has a certain amount of resistance that simulates real time driving by not making the rollers easy as easy to spin, Because of this, A mustang dyno usually shows lower numbers than Dynojet.

And yes, all manufacturer hp/tq ratings are at the flywheel.

GM has always under rated their products. no 2 engines are going to be the same so the numbers are just an estimate.
