Chassis dyno testing: open VS closed cut outs + lighter wheels
Recently re baselined my truck on a local dyno. (Last month) I decided to see how well my exhaust system works. (WELL) And, I always wanted to see if lighter wheels and tires would affect dyno numbers. (It definitely affects ETs at the track.)
Basically, at my current power level the cut outs aren't worth anything. It did push the peak power up 300 RPM thought. The wheels/tires - despite being nearly the same height and 9.5 lbs each lighter... also did nothing.
Blue is best of 3 pulls through the mufflers. Had a cool down before making pulls.
Green is best of 2 open cut outs. No cool down.
Orange is best with lighter wheels and tires. Cool down before 2 pulls.
