Dyno Numbers Sought - 408 with Truck Intake
I'm trying to find (here or anywhere else) if anyone has done a dyno comparison with a 408 stroker (preferably a fairly small cam) and a truck intake manifold versus an LS6 or FAST. I've done a number of searches on this topic, but I'm not coming up with anything. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?
Thanks,
Steve

I couldn't wait to install my ls6 and never did dyno my 402 with the truck intake and 228 230 cam. I will however post the track gains/losses in the 1/8 mile. L92 pump won't be here till next week and my truck is going in to body shop for paint so I won't have results till end of month.

Thanks, any information is appreciated. I do have one dyno sheet (engine dyno) from a 414 CID engine that Lingenfelter Performance Engineering sold on ebay. They built several strokers for a Detroit manfacturer (probably GM), but the man I talked to at Lingfelter a couple of years ago when these were auctioned wouldn't say for sure. He said they were built as power sources to do drive train testing on transmissions, etc. to really load them up with torque for hundreds of hours to see what it took to make them fail.
This engine had the Lingenfelter GT-7 cam which is a 208/230 with a 121.5 LSA and about .550" valve lift (intake and exhaust).
Here's a spec sheet and dyno graph of the engine off of eBay.
BTW, what were your seat of the pants driving impressions with the 402?
Thanks,
Steve

If you look at this thread https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=392089 where I compiled a bunch of data a while back from tests conducted there at Westech in California using a 346 CID engine, the truck manifold started running out of breath at higher RPMs/CFMs. 408 CID will exaccerbate this problem somewhat. My only question is how much.

I have a freshly built 408 in myn... But it has a larger sized cam.. Put 426/436 to the wheels turning 20 inch wheels with the stock truck intake and ported tb.... I just finished up the fast 90/90 setup with electric water pump.. Will be getting it retuned and dynoed this week... Ill let you know the results.. Hoping for 460....
