Default Dyno this Saturday ?'s

Never had it on a dyno. Never had one on a dyno. Hell I've never even seen a dyno in person.

Too many stories of driveshafts letting go in 3rd gear pulls. So I plan on pulling in 2nd to 6500. Sound right?

Should I lock or unlock the verter?

Any other tips?

Feel free with any guesses on the number. Its gone 12.92 at 102mph. I've added meth injection and little more boost since then.

going to the dyno saturday too and was just about to ask this same question lol. hope you get an answer. i want to do a 3rd gear pull but only up to like 6000 rpm. running 3.73's and a 32" tire. will my drive shaft spin too fast or be ok?

not trying to hijack your thread just don't see the use of two threads on the same question.

You want to lock the converter, I've spun my truck 8 times now to 6500 rpms in 3rd w/ no problems... but better safe than sorry because, yes it has happened to some people.

I'm going to guess your numbers should be in the high 400's maybe close to mid 500's for torque. That time seems slow to me... but your truck is a heavy pig

which dyno is this? mustang, dyno jet?

I really dunno about your drive shaft being okay. Th way I look at it is why risk it. Can happen and does to often with the trucks. Can cause major damage to tranny, rearend, truck, possibly people. Just to get a HP number. Not worth it. Until I get a good driveshaft I won't run it beyond 110 mph ever.

It is a heavy pig. I run it full street trim. Spare tire, tailgate etc... About 5400 # with me in it.

It's a Superflow dyno. Local Dyno day at a performance shop.

I have 475 in my head for a HP number. Really don know.

IMO 3rd gear, converter locked. Take your laptop, and tuning software, just in case. Last year in Cali, mine made 409hp/517tq . It's a wierd feeling to sit there, and watch someone else mash it, and go to 6,000 or so! I'll be waiting to hear some results!

Yeah laptop definately going. I would condsider a 3rd gear pull a little more if it wasn't so rich with the meth injection in 3rd. I am nervous about the whole thing. I mean I romp on it all the time, just worried something will break on the rollers. Weird.

I'll post up the numbers good or bad.
