Thanks guys. I have always ran 7's, but switched to 8's a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure if it helped anything. I think one of my fuel pumps went out the other night. The truck went lean a few times on the way home for no reason.

You need 315s for 1.4s? George, lightning and gm fronts ends are a far cry from the same. Lightning motors damn near sit in the cab, as you know their exciting to work on because of it. That weight further back is also one of the reasons I believe (opinion) the 500HP L's can rip the front tires off the ground all day and we catch hell trying with far more power. Secondly the suspensions upfront has different angles. Most L boys run those Drag springs and get a 1" "lift" over factory height and have to cut them to get a respectable stance. Mine can crush them (lowering 5" over stock) till the truck sits on the bump stops. My A/C doesn't weigh that much. Something seems off if your calling them the same setup bud, but that's another Georges opinion I respectfully disagree with because it didn't work for **** in actual application.

I own both and built both...they are similar
Now as for why they need to cut them cause thier pocket is shorter then a silverado pocket
Motor isnt really any further back then the silverado
I have the springs and yes my truck is lighter then yours but could easiky run them in stock form .....rst are lower from factory so that makes sense or possibly you had a bad batch
A lightning can wheelie with 430 rwhp with springs and shocks cause of the long bar design along with low end torque
As for saying far cry...start taking measurements....frame rails are within 1/4" of each other
Motor placement in chassis is close to same
Parts from both work on each
But what do i know i have several lightning parts on my silverado and few silverado parts on a lightning

The best weight comparison I could find for apples to apples was
Tim Skeltons site, a stock lightning with 145 pound driver.
LF 1,477 / RF 1,301 = 2,778
LR 1,080 / RR 1,036 =* 2,116
With driver Total = 4,894
BigKids Blower truck 2000 RCSB posted on here.
FL - 1452 1430 - FR => 2882
RL - 984 851 - RR => 1855
With driver Total= 4717 total
From outside looking in, over 100 more pounds up front and that 250 less pounds sitting on the rears for the GM is huge. Then when you take that blower off the top and add a 100+pounds worth of turbo jazz further out on the nose is even more steps in the wrong direction helping set it up right.
I think it's the combo of the big tq those setups make off the hit, the weight transfer and lastly the long bar setups work well to come together to plant it.
In the end, on topic, Gadgetized big power will come around their *** like they bumped it into natural anyways.

a lightning with caltracs wont lift the front up
the 58" long bars that some use vs the shorter long bars gives them the most forward lift
i tossed a set on my ford with a set of drag springs and lifted the front driver wheel with 430 rwhp with only a 1.72 60'
now you dont typically see a silverado hanging the hoops like a lightning does, the silverado has a longer leaf spring setup and most use caltracs which typically lifts the body or pushes the rear into ground
another thing is the lightnings that dont make huge power swap to a set of FAF leafs which are a single fiberglass leaf setup, i went to try them on the silverado and they are 4" shorter then the silverado leafs
the lightning is also more *** longer, ive parked both my trucks next to each other and the ford was about 18" roll pan for roll pan
and last they have over 500 ftlbs of torque on the most simplest setups, my old stock blower setup made 400 rwhp 530rwtq, it made that 530ftlbs at 2800 rpms
so a 550 rwhp lightning will typically make 660-680 rwtq at 2800-3000 rpms
silverados no matter size of motor dont make the torque a ford does, the nature of the LS motor just isnt a low rpm torque motor
also my lightning weighed in at 4440 without the hitch or spare tire
