But that's the point we're trying to make...it doesn't matter what the numbers were. There's no baseline for the truck. He did not gain 140rwhp from just a cam and headers...No way in hell. I don't care how much super duper peak power that cam was designed to make. It's a stock 5.3. Period. I'm sure the truck runs good. Why do the numbers mean so much?

They dont lol, I was just curious if anyone else thought that it was at all possible that there was a teeny tiny chance that the numbers it made were possible lol. I didn't think anyone would but thats what I wanted to find out... I'm not gonna lie, I have thought a couple of times that possibly they could be true, but when you put it in the way as 140rwhp gain it does sound crazy! Did you ever dyno yours when it was stock? I think we had the same engines...

Yeah we dyno'd my truck bone *** stock. Made 224 i believe. Tuned it, made 24xrwhp. Cam, headers, true dual, cai, udp made 350rwhp. Ran 13.70's with a stock converter 3.73's and a 2.3 60' and 12.86 on a 75shot with a 2.1 60' at 4500# with me in it.

Now with the ls6 cam I had in my "new" motor, didn't dyno it, but ran 13.40 at 101 with a 1.9 60' with a 2800 converter, 4.56 gears, and 4800# with me in it. The added weight is a full tool box, sound system, stock bumper, and tail gate.

NOW...The truck made 360, but I haven't been to the track yet, but I suspect I'm going to be disappointed with my motor times because my converter is holding me up. I don't think I can get any better than a 1.8x which isn't going to put me where I want to be. With the nitrous on the other hand, I think it will be awesome.

Have fun with your truck, man. I(tyler) built my truck to make me happy. I don't care what any of these jokers say (no offense guys) about what kind of power it makes, how slow it runs, how they could drag my *** blah blah blah, ain't nobody here poppin my cherry, that was done long ago.

You need to sit down with yourself and come up with a goal for the truck. Do you want a big dyno number, do you want a 12 second daily driver, 11 second, 10 second? The more you stay undecided, the more this thing will consume you and the less fun it will become...Been there, done that.

I wanted a 12 sec dd, but it looks like I'm going to have to stick with an almost 12 sec dd

I barely put down over 400 with 9 pounds of boost, cam, intake, exhaust, tuning, blah blah blah, but my situation is a bit different since I have a ton more drivetrain loss than most of the guys here with 14bolt axle, and 35" tires.

My track numbers line up about right for my weight and the HP the truck is making, but what does that mean? Not much really. The truck is fun as hell to drive and makes me smile every time I get into the gas. I dont care if it only puts down 300, if it makes me happy then a number is irrelavent. Too many people associate a peak HP dyno number to how fun the vehicle is to drive. Take a cummins for example, that little six cylinder barely breaks 400hp, but its fun as hell to drive.

Yeah i suppose i let my dyno results get to me i lil too much. Although, i would like to know wha it is actually making. I'd also love to run it down the track again before i pull this motor. I'd like to see what it would run like with the 4.56's now, It would prob chop off about .1 to the sixty and .2 to the quarter. But it usually cost me about $200 by the time i get back home. We live almost 3hrs from the nearest track.

I'm thinkin i'm gonna do H/C/I 6.0, 3600 stall, built tranny, and a 150-175 shot of giggle juice and shoot for 11.5's. That should get me about 900rwhp right? LOL But seriously thats where i'm headed(on the setup, not the hp lol)

Just something to add to this and I can get all my dyno sheets throughout the years but my race car has always made 400hp +/- 5hp on this dyno. And when Jake was there the other day it made 395 before it dropped a valve.

your truck runs good, just have fun with it. my fastest run in 85 degree weather, no intercooler on stock steel 17s with bald 265/60/17s and my 20's up front and 20's from the rear in the bed with my jack for traction haha, "didnt work" with a 2.3 60ft was 14.13 at 99.4, im only gettin 3lbs of boost because i didnt listen to the smart guys on here, so im bleeding boost, but to me it hauls *** for a full wieght, with 4 12's, amp and so on crew cab 180,000 mile 5.3. times and horspower dont mix sometimes, just enjoy it.
