Did a quick search and found this. Actually, I may go up to PA and buy this one - its almost exactly what I want - don't like the chopped top much though and don't know if it has a 4 link or not. Anyway, picture this with an alum block 427 LS motor in it - either lotsa nitrous, or twin turbos - painted black ofcourse... and the biggest drag radial I can get under it... And its old enough that I can get tags without worrying about emissions... what, you didn't think I was gonna drive it on the street lol...

I won't get rid of my car. I just want something I can race week in and week out - going fast in a heavy car takes its toll on it. I don't wanna gut the car out to lighten it. I would leave it alone and just drive it on the street.

I would build the truck ultra lite, so I could go mid 8s with about the same power I have in my car - would like to race in some of the unlimited drag radial classes.

I'm not feelin' the chopped top. A guy I work with has a newer style S-10 for sale cheap, and it's an extended cab. It's a stock 4cyl. (w/engine problems) and would be a total project, but you could get it for a grand or so. It's not in horrible condition either. I think it's like a 98 or something, but it's the more rounded version compared to the one you posted.

Yeah, I hate that they did that to that one - totally ruins the truck. Problem with the 98 would be emissions - I would need to go with a 1988 or older so I can get tags that don't require emissions testing. I have seen alot of nice bodies for under $1k. There is a company that makes a frame that is narrowed with a 4 link and you just put it right under your body and weld in the cage! We'll see... just thinkin out loud at the moment.
