At first I thought they must have gotten a LS2 rotating assembly from AES, but I see that this build was based on a LSX block. I'm guessing based on the 9,000 rpm in the article that this engine is much larger bore & shorter stroke than the AES 390.

I've said all along you need less C.I. to make more HP with a 2300. The blower can only flow so much air, you need RPM to get more HP. On a 427 the 2300 can't flow the air needed for 1000hp. Both motors will make very similar torque though. The 390 will just be able to make more HP cuz it can spin more RPM before the blower is done.

Awesome! Anybody else notice the belt stretch/wobble in the 1:50s and 2:20s during the video? Also, was the low rpm surging at the start of the video the dyno operator playing with the throttle or the camshaft?
