1000+rwhp anyone?
, here is the deal...
i have been torn on what to do with the truck. sell it, just drive it, build it more. i have decided that if i can sell the pt88 turbo kit for a decent amount i will use that money to get me started on some big twins.
if anyone is interested it will be listed in the classifides section.
i need to do more research but i am leaning toward twin 70's or 72's. i need to look at the garret line a lot harder. it is hard to get maps for their stuff online. it seems odd but going off the maps and airflow calculations it apears the twin 72's will be able to feed the motor better at really high boost than a pair of t76's. the 76's wont push as much presure as the 72's. i dont know if i will be geting into the high presure ratio area or not.
i am going to try and do it with the stock manifolds. i have no idea if there is a chance of it working or not that way.

You can do a twin setup for really cheap. I am planing on doing that to my 81 vette. You don't have to have the ceramic ball bearings or anything fancy. You don't have to have the best of everything to get the job done. You should be able to find some T70-72's for around $500 each online if you shop around.

Mine wasn't (but the whole garret numbering thing is confusing as hell and I still don't know if a GT70 is the same as a T70 but don't think so -- seems like a GT72 is in fact bigger/better than a T76, but its been a while for me).
Glad to see you hit the 1k mark Jim!! Are you bored with it already? heheh

Be wary of those Super Ts. I remember Jose had a post about them on LS1Tech a while back. From what I remember of his post, they are really cheaply made (from china).
Also -- read the fine print that Super T70 is advertised as equivalent to a GT61 (which maxes at 680hp and costs ~$600 as opposted to 1300 / ~$1000+ with a GT70).
I seem to recall the retail price of a GT70 in the $1250 range.

Be very careful of Ebay turbos. I've seen/heard a lot of horror stories about inexspensive turbos on there.
Sounds like you have a plan Jim. It should be interesting when the dust settles.

Damn! I guess it holds true, if it seems too good to be true it probalby is. The link to honda-tech with the glued together housing is some serious crap!
