Default 2005 GMC 4.8 turbo no fuel

Hey fellas, I finally got the truck up and running.. I was out tuning and it seems like a hit a wall on the fuel... the truck leans out at around 4500 I've added more to the VR table and no change.. I'm looking into hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to see.. but a buddy mentioned to me that the stock 05 non flex pump is small and is more than likely unable to support the amount of fuel the engine needs.. not to mention the pump may have 200K miles on it...

stock 4.8... 15lbs E85 80lbs Dekas...

what do you experienced guys think?

If i need a bigger pump then I don't think I should bother with the OE flex fuel pump and just throw a Walbro 450 in the stock hanger... which I heard there are issues with that too???

You're well beyond the limits of that fuel pump, not a smart move at all running the truck on that pressure with the stock pump.

I just realized there is a fuel section to this forum...lol...forum looks much better in a computer than a freaking phone... who let the ford guys in?? lol

I see what you say now.. that poor stock pump is no way capable of supporting that amount of fuel and corn to even make it worse...

An external FPR to go full return seems like the best setup in the long run... doesn't it?

Is there a write up on stuffing the two 450s into the stock basket?

And does anyone have a stock assembly they want to sell?

Convert to return style fuel system. Run new feed with inline filter. Use factory feed as return. New fpr. Gut bucket fill it with your pumps, done. Good luck.

Blue, what about the concern of the bucket not retaining enough fuel, cause I guess the actual tank isn't baffled?

Return line dumping straight back into the bucket. I also have my pumps going through the bottom of the bucket with sock filters on the under side
