Is a 2300 too big for a 5.3? Ya, Kinda. Would it work, yes. Unless you plan on going big and or adding more CI then its not needed. Hell TimZ is pushing 14psi on a Cammed 6.0 with his 1900. (Overdriven, 8rib)

lol I want to slap one of those new whipple 4.5L blowers on my stock LS3 2010 camaro. I dont really understand how it would hurt. Lower IAT's and lots of room to grow. Or am I wrong? I know more about turbos than PD blowers

If you spin them to slow then they are out of their efficiency range also just like a turbo. It will still work however. If the blower is way to big then you are just adding drag for no reason, now the motor has to spin that much more wieght.

I guess I will stick to a 1900 if I decide to do it. And yes I have rode in a turbo, it was pretty SICK! I just always like the blower look.

I was kicking around a 2300 on a 4.8 but after talking to Pat I think the 1900 would be plenty for what I want. Might still end up turbo tho lol.

Thanks for clearing that up. Makes sense. How many cubes would be needed to require that 4.5L blower? I mean The copo camaro runs a 4.0L whipple on a 327 CI and they run 8's out the box

With the COPO Camaro you gotta consider the flow #'s that motor makes, the RPM it spins and the boost level as well. Kinda like apples to Oranges if comparing to a stock motor.

Back to the original question.

No, a 2300 is not too big for a 5.3 liter. That is a myth. Here's some proof. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...rmance-505827/
