whats the IDC? have you guys ever had a problem with fuel slosh below 1/3 of a tank? i think that was my problem, i went a fueled it right up and now theres no fuel pressure drop, what should i be looking for now? a cracked case in the fuel can? the EVAP?

Did you cut or change anything at all, no matter how insignificant, when you put your 255 in the bucket?

Yikes. I never let my get even close to a 1/4 now. That is the quickest way to burn a fuel pump up. I know cause it happened to me. But still I recommend doing twin walbro 255 intank pumps with a hobb switch set to 5#. Thats what I did.

if you let it get too low. when you take off it will starve the fuel pump, which is where your fuel pressure drop probably came from. You should be ok with a single 255 at the power level you are at. You could add a magnavolt for insurance, but if you get much over where you are at I would do the twin 255's. Just be glad you are return style and dont have to F with converting like some of us are going to have to do.

Check out the idc next time, that'll tell you, keep an eye on fuel pressure too

Can a 2003 truck fuel pump and 42# injectors handle 500rwhp NA safely?

I'm pretty sure the stock pump with 42's can't handle 500RWHP. I was running 42's with a walbro 255 and I was at 105% cycle on the injectors at about 450-470 RWHP (Procharger P-1SC @ 10lbs).

No. You have to add a 255 inline before the filter on the frame rail. It is a relatively easy install and you don't have to compromise your in-tank bucket (FWIW). I have never had fuel pressure drop up to 12 psi boost. I see 70 psi fuel pressure at 12 psi boost with the stock FPR on the rail. I red line at 5600 rpm.

I agree with Rick. Somewhere above 450 RWHP you will start to run out of injector on the 42# injectors.

OP:
Watch out for low fuel tank slosh. I am still having problems with it at 3/8 of a tank. It can kill a good time.

The Ford Racing 42's that I have are rated at 43.5 psi, so, they are 48's at 58 psi. They will be enough for 500rwhp NA since B.S.F.C. is lower than FI.

I am worried about stock fuel pump but have read that 2003 truck fuel pumps are better than older ones.
