Default 2bar or 3bar?

I'm trying to decide which way to go. The 2bar looks to be the easier choice since it plugs right into the manifold and wiring. But, the 3 bar isn't much work either. The 2bar has better resolution than the 3bar, but is that an important factor?

Right now I don't plan on more than 15-16lbs of boost. But I know myself enough to know that there is always more.

I don't want to use the HPT credits for 2bar and then move to 3bar.

If you have gone one way or the other what were your reasons?

If you're going to run more than 14lbs, I think you need a 3 bar. No?

2 bar = 14.7 psi so more than 14-15psi needs 3bar

If the 3bar was plug and play and was as accurate as the 2bar I think it would be an obvious choice. At the moment I really don't see the need for more than 15lbs(I'm on my 3rd trans in 3mo). I'm really wondering how important the resolution is.

Also, I'm at 12lbs on the maf. Can a few lbs over the map be tuned in similar to how it is tuned now?

Do the 2 bar sensor.

3bar could be alittle sloppy,no need if you run 15lbs.

resolution is important. Figure you have "X" number of boxes in your tuning map. Say half is non-boost and half is boosted like with a 2 bar. To go to the three bar you have to add another 50% of area for tuning, but you can't add more boxes (areas) of tuning so now each box has to cover a larger range.

Not a major deal, but I like to have as much tuning as possible. If you're only going 16 psi or so I'd still keep the 2 bar. The difference in timing or fuel between 15 psi and 16/17 psi is very small. And you could always change the last cell at 15 psi to be a bit rich so that 17 psi is good. Now if you're going to run 20 psi go three bar.

That is the answer I was looking for. I daily driver my truck, so the resolution seams more important than the 1% of the time I will be above 15psi.
