alright, point taken lol. 5Speed, only one way to find out. I'm sure that you'd still be able to find some fun in a turbo'd manual 4.8, might not be ideal but I'm sure it'd be fun. I was going to just throw a ls6 cam in my 4.8 but the low to mid end that everyone was talking about with the isky 12 (the lope of this cam too) made me fork out the cash for the isky 12. There's a member on here doing a twin turbo 4.8 with a triple 12 (project is called winter projects in the project thread) and here is an idle clip from him twin turbo 4.8, isky triple 12 cam, 550rpm idle - YouTube. got some lope to it. Hopefully I'll have mine installed in a few weeks here. Just waiting on my springs to come in.

hey man im in your shoes minus the manual. i went with a custom grind dual pattern cam. 215/222 on a 113. .602/.604 lift. truck performed well and u felt the power from 3k-6800rpms. only reason i swapped was i now have a 4l80 and found out i can go a bit more aggresive and still be daily drivable. once truck is tuned i will upload new vids of it. runing a turbo on 10-12# (tuning decides)anyways here is an idle clip Samantha makeover - YouTube

Ditch the 3.23's and get some 3.90's and the spool time will be better. The 4.3 ecsb truck I built had 3.23's and between gears it fell on its face. Went to 3.90's and what a difference. It pulled much harder turbo spooled nicely and when he shifts it rolls right back into boost and keeps pulling. High gears are great for turbos, but when you fall below a good rpm due to too high of gear it's not going to spool. I have the logs and seat time on this. I built the entire setup. Just putting it out there.

sweet both sound like my set up with springs and rods, just on a tu0 cam. im asking cause i had a lifter get fubar'ed and it messed up the cam so im trying to hunt down why it would have happened. but i have 7.4''comp rods and the same springs as "03 regcab_sierra" so it sounds like that wouldn't have been the problem

What springs did you have in when you installed the cam? My whole cam was whipped out. I get you have to run an oil with a lot of zinc and install light spring for break in for comp cams. I think it's something new they just added to the install instruction. It says not to install the inner spring of dual springs for break in and run the engine at 2000-2500rpm for thirty minutes.
