I vote get rid of the LS motor and drop in a Dmax. Insane power, nearly 30mpg in a rcsb 1/2 ton, will last a few hundred thousand miles, and get deep into the 11's fairly easily. What more could you want in a truck. LOL

I actually would not mind that.
Just, that would cost more, and i would have to replace everything to handle the torque of it..... And a gas moter sounds better..

I dont think a gas motor can sound like this with the flip of a switch. DSP5 EFI Live switch. Go from stock to 500+whp and choppy lope in seconds. LOL
I've had my fun with several LS powered rides, but I'm addicted to Diesel now.

Yea, most diesels only go to about 4200-4500. But damn its scrarry as hell and loud with the 5" turbo back and turbo pushin 30+psi. LOL
I had my 2000 5.3L with a 3500 stall set to shift at 7300 and rev limiter at 7800. I hit the rev limiter several times. LOL

Sound - gas 1 diesel 0
Power - gas 0 diesel 1
Econonmy - gas 0 diesel 1
Towing - gas 0 diesel 1
Initial cost - gas 1 diesel 0
Hearing the sound of supercharger whine on a high revving sbc, priceless.

sounds like another one inhaling too many diesel fumes. lol. diesel motors weigh what a gas motor plus tranny weighs. wonderful when you throw all that weight over the front tires of a rcsb pickup.
sound, its a gas engine, hands down
power, toss up cause people can build just as much, and more with gas
economy, diesels get the edge, but start pushin power and mileage falls on both
towing, have towed more with a gas motor than a diesel more than once
cost, already have gas, keep gas
just my opinion, everyone has their own

I much prefer gas....
But, diesels can be fun.... Although, as i said....
Hearing the sound of supercharger whine on a high revving sbc over 6500 rpms, priceless.

Truck is on dyno now.
Just called them, its pushing around 370ish at the wheels, they estimate a little over 500 at the crank.
Not gonna be able to pick it up today, I had a 02 senser die.
Exhaust is done. Headers going into true duel 2.5 pipes with 40 series dumping before the axles.
