Default 408 roots blower build

I'm not sure how many of you browse the ls1 tech forums so i thought i'd post my build on here also.

Well i finally bit the bullet and started my build after months of decisions.
It's a 6.0l block bored .030 with the callies speed pak with upgraded i-beam rods and the forged Wiseco -28 dished pistons.

Should be around 8.5cr

Keith Craft AFR 245 ported heads.

ED Curtis FTI hyd roller cam designed for a 10-71 roots blower.

BDS 10-71 stage 3 blower with billet rotors coming if my intake ever gets done. ha-ha They have been working
on it for about 11 weeks now.

BDS 3 hole bug catcher hat and 16 injector efi setup.

Holley dominator ecu kit coming when that gets in stock with there coil setup and wire harness.

Will post pictures as the build starts.

I powder coated the block chrome looks pretty trick.

I'm still debating on the boost setup. I was thinking seting it up at 10psi and have 12lb and 16lb pulleys sent with for the dyno. The master tuner Mark thinks a 8lb setup and then have 10lb and 12 lb pulleys sent with. i'm sure he will chime in with more details.

I should mention this will be a E-85 engine and shooting for 1,000 -1,200 fwhp

I think 1k-1200 hp is a little much on 10-12 lb. I have to ask why you aren't shooting for ALOT more boost since you have such low compression and running e85. My 370 is that I am building is 9.9:1 and will be running 16-18 lbs on e85 in "race mode" and 12 psi on the street. I think you are leaving alot on the table with this combo. Don't be afraid to crank it up a little with a stout long block like you have. FWIW I am running 12 psi on my bone stock 110k mile 5.3 with e85 at a conservative 19 deg timing wot and it LOVES it!
Where in mn are you from?

Well the tuner and dyno man is thinking 10lbs of boost is all i need to obtain the 1,000hp goal? With that said the current setup is at -9.4% UD and 10lbs by switching the top and bottom pulley around they said it should be around 10% OD and 20lbs boost. I think i'm going to get the pulleys to run 1-1 about 16psi also. By the way i'm in Marshall

With that big of a blower and that little of compression its going to be begging you for more boost. You might be getting close to 1000fwhp with 10psi, but i don't think it will reach it.

Well my holley dominator ECU is suppose to ship next week also. Great news for me as it might see a dyno in a couple weeks. After talking with BDS on setting up a 1-1 drive which they told me would be around 16lbs of boost. They looked and noticed i got a free upgrade to the stage 2 billet rotors high helix pro loc blower. Which is good for me but now with the -9.4 ud pulleys they expect around 18lbs of boost and even up 1-1 around 21lbs of boost. So much for the 10lbs of boost so i'll be right where you guys think it should be for boost. Now i hope it doesn't make to much power and grenade the stock block. I'm really thinking twice about a lsx block now. BDS and us have no idea what this thing is going to do on the dyno.
