Best decision I made was to swap in the 80 before the 65e ever crapped out on me. With the aftermarket converter you will hardly notice the taller first gear, if at all. The stocker is an anchor and I bet is the biggest difference in feel off of the line after the swap.

ya i have not run a stock stall in years..lol, the 3200 in the 65 was good, i going in a few min to pick up the truck...

so i did not get the truck today. my pcm does not have the stuff to command the 4l80....but i overnighted a 1200 TCI control, , this damn thing has got to the $7000 mark....nobody told me it would be that much...lol

Your tuner must use HPtuners... I have only ran across 1 OS that didn't have a 4l80e counter part that could be used for the conversion with EFILive and it was some rare flex fuel deal. Pretty sure your PCM would have worked fine with the 4l80e, mine as well as many others do

$1200 to control the 4l80e????? Jesus. I completely agree with KB above. Does your shop have familiarity with EFI live?

Shoot, I even have a old EFILive v1 i could have sold ya for $350 that would have done it.

we use hptuners...most pcm have it in there he said. and that mine was the only one he has seen were he could not do the cov. he look at like 50 tunes and all of them had where he could change the psi. in the trans or somthing. im getting in to all this tuning ****...lol, but its all good. the damn thing is in the AIR by now and on its was to NC overnight as allways...lol

Even if yours didn't have it you could have reflashed the entire PCM with a different operating system. I've done it myself on my PCM and had no clue what I was doing. So, it's really easy.
