Default 5.3 turbo'd guys come in

What turbo/s are you guys running on your 5.3s?

Im about to pull the trigger on a ON3 kit for my 2010 Sierra and im think of going with a BW turbo instead of the newer ON3 78mm.

Its a stock bottom end 4th gen 5.3 which will get the factory 243s ported, plan on running on E85 and my HP goals are around ~600RWHP~ but later on go higher. I know the newer ON3 78 can get the job done but I was looking for other options. Nothing against the ON3 78 just looking to see what some of you guys are running.

Thanks guys.

Suporting mods will be 4.11 gears, tru trac, traction bars etc etc

bw 76/87 would be a good one for that. Much better turbo than the on3 flavor.

I am putting together a Stage 5 Trick Performance kit on my truck at the moment. haven't run it yet, the TH400 is almost done in the truck. The turbo is a BW 80/83

Like Atomic said, something right around the 76mm compressor size should be perfect for that. Ive got a 70mm waiting to go on mine, but I sized it more for DD/towing duty than for highest performance.

I would also considering dropping down from a 4.10 to like a 3.73 or 3.42 gear. It'll help load the turbo up better.

You also really don't need to get the heads ported. With the right turbo/cam/gears/stall you should have no problem hitting 600hp without digging too far into the motor.

Yeah, mine is probably a little on the big side. Hence the trans brake th400. I plan to go to 3.54's in a Dana 60.

I disagree with that whole gear to load the turbo mindset. You need to ask yourself if you want to go fast, or make boost easier.

Well within reason anyway. I wouldn't go from 4.10s to 2.56s lol.

Yes, That is what two steps are for! haha. I am going with 3.54's because I have no overdrive anymore.

From Experience in my RCSB from several years ago..

..... 12psi turbo 5.3...4l60e...and 4.10's ran a 12.25@114
......12psi turbo 5.3...4l60e...and 3.23's ran a 11.61@121

conditions almost identical...and the only thing i changed was gears and the truck became a completely different animal... so i disagree with the disagreement but to each their own.

S475/83 will be moar than plenty and have a lot of room to grow.

BTW, i'm faster with 4.10's than 3.42's.
