I haven't really heard of anyone burning valves, usually a ring land will crack on a stock piston.

[QUOTE][No real need to port the heads unless you can and the engine is apart already. Cam, big exhaust, a little meth good tune and about 13psi should get you into the 500ish range with a 5.3. I think WJmark is just over 500 with a zo6 cam, meth and 13psi.
Tranny will surely go south in a hurry, so you will need to be looking for an upgrade there. ]

13 psi sound kinda high correct me if im wrong cause its been a while since i read the article, but i thought parish got 700-800 out of a junk yard stock 5.3l with a mp70 on 9 or 10 psi and a ls6 cam?

I believe they got 600rwhp with a th400, way loose converter, and 9", at 15psi on that MP T70 and 01 ls6 cam.

I made 500rwhp on my 4.8 with a small cam, Meth, MP T70 and 11psi.

k maybe its not high, has that motor blow up yet? it would be interesting to see what a stock 5.3l breaking point would be if you did the tune and turbo setup right.

Last I heard, it was still running strong with tons of dyno and track passes
