Some VVT turbos used oil, some used voltage. the ones with the big motor on them are the JUNK ones.... well they are all junk..lol
Diesel turbos are designed for high boost low volume, where as gas turbos are designed for low boost high volume....

Strait from the Garret himself......
Now, some where I have ran across more info on A/R on gas vs Diesel... Obviously the turbo will work, but is it running at peak efficiency?
Compressor A/R - Compressor performance is comparatively insensitive to changes in A/R. Larger A/R housings are sometimes used to optimize performance of low boost applications, and smaller A/R are used for high boost applications. However, as this influence of A/R on compressor performance is minor, there are not A/R options available for compressor housings.

its my office not steve's (steve is argie, he was using my acount till he set up his own. thats why the posts started under my name).
the reason my office is slightly cluttered is my wife is in bahgdad at the moment. she hasnt been home to clean in like 5 months.
but for all the naysayers, i have to say, i thought steve was crazy and it wouldnt work but it works awsome. it pulls hard and he spent next to nothing. the entire exhaust was made from scraps in my garage. an the intake was 20 bucks. i dont care what anyone says the kid can scrounge.
and we had to make the header because the pass manifold (98-99 camaro/bird) was rubbing on the control arm and was just not going to work(this is an s-10 after all). even the header we fabbed from scrap. we used the stock manifold flange an some 2 1/2 junk stainless exhaust pipe and made the runners from a junk 1 5/8 header and welded it up. the whole pass header was free out of my scrap pile.
i went for a ride with him and it starts spooling up around 1800 and it hit 5 psi by like 2300 maybe 2500 an i dint see where the tack was when it got to it but it hit 8 psi. its a fun little truck.
