... ya I was impressed with the numbers in the book too... but IMO, $10k installed is way WAY too much for a kit with stock exhaust manifolds. AND being a W2W install only, folks who do not live near W2W have to deal with transportation... which only increases overall cost. Hats off to them if they can line the customers up ... and it doesn't look like they are short on work either.

Price for the Full-Race kit as seen at SEMA is $7995... not including fuel upgrades. Awefully high price... but the hot parts are DA BOMB

DSW's kit is looking ALOT more attractive

I don't know. I would give them a call and see if they will build you a kit if interested. I, obviously, took a different route after re-evaluating my funds and finding out that Detroit Speedworks / Livernois was making a change to the passenger header on their kit and the wait time was 4-6 weeks even after waiting 3 weeks and asking again.

Why are they trying to change the header for? Man, I hope it's make it emissions legal, that would be great

4.8T, Full-Race makes the kit... I saved the pics while the links were still good. If you want them shoot me an email at billreid1@***.net.

... let me make it clear that Full-Race is not a PerformanceTrucks.net sponsor and I am not pimping for them... hell, I don't know if they will make the kit. I have seen the prototype in action and talked to the shop that co-engineered the prototype kit. The info I get is the prototype was (probably) the only kit built... well over $12k installed once the bugs were worked out. $8g's for a kit is a alot for a truck owner to cough... and does not at all include fuel upgrades. The custom one off exhaust on the prototype kit truck was, I think, 4" from the downpipe back... probably $1000 in that alone.

The kit that is/was for sale in the parts section COULD be the the prototype kit we've been talking about here...

Charged 5.3,
I talked with Rick At Livernois and they were reworking the pass header because of complaints of difficulty getting to spark plugs. You might wan to call Rick and ask him for an update... its been a few weeks and they are probably real close to shipping kits again. Emissions legal would depend on your local/state laws...

Thanks for the info. Are you looking into getting a Livernois kit?

I was... had cash in hand. Had Chad at Xtreme call them to order the kit. Chad was told 4-6 weeks. I called Rick personally 3 weeks later and asked for an update. He couldn't give me one... I asked 3,5 or another 4-6 weeks? He said, Yes. They were finished with the pass header update at that time and I would assume it was logistics from there. Hell, Livernois is probably very close to shipping kits again...

HOWEVER, I had been keeping an eye on moregrip and his mods to his Magnuson setup. I started thinking about what it would take to install either kit myself. I had installed several kits from Magnuson before... so I knew how easy that route would be (factoring down time for my daily driver)... and how easy later bolt on's would be as well. I have also installed (twin) turbo kits. I thought about the exhaust mods I would have to just make the truck drivable with the DSW turbo kit. Exhaust mods are optional with the Magnuson. I am a perfectionest... no Midas "make the down pipe fit the existing exhaust". I would have had GHL Motorsports scratch fab me a 304 stainless exhaust with a high flow cat and muffler for the turbo kit. No tuning was included with the turbo kit... which is another expense. Magnuson has boxed tuning that has a proven track record and works great.

What finalized my decision was that another Magnuson dealer here in town, other than Xtreme, had a kit in stock. Nothing like getting a kit the same day. I purchased the kit through Xtreme and had Chad send my truck info (cal sheet) over to Magnuson... had the tuner 3 business days later.

Yes, (down)time was a big factor for me... had to spend the money before my wife had too much time to think about it Tuff luck that I didn't wind up with a DSW kit. I absolutely love turbo's...
