Default 6.2 Magnacharger 1900 or 2300 plus questions?

I have a 2011 6.2 GMC Sierra Crew Cab 4x4. I plan on adding a Magnachager 1900 or 2300 and headers. I do not want to build the engine. What is the highest psi that I can safely run on the stock bottom end? How much rwhp/rwtq should I expect? Should I get the 1900 or the 2300? Would I need larger injectors or fuel pump? Will the trans and rear hold up?

Thanks for any input!

1900 will work well but the 2300 would be better as it is more displacment...the chargers come with the injectors and pump...everything in the box to install and go.

To OP, from what i have found researching, the 1900 will suffice, but the 2300 will support more later on down the road if you want to push it further. I believe the 2300 is something like a $500 upgrade. The 2300 is what i will get, once funds become available. From magnacharger, everything should be supplied. The only thing you may want to look into is a better tune. A live/dyno tune from a reputable tuner will wake it up more. Maggie's supplied tune is on the conservative side for obvious reasons.

As for the transmission- its all in the tuning from what ive been able to find out.

As for the rear- since you have the 6.2, you should have the SF 14 bolt 9.5". No problems with that rear end that i know of.

Blower, Long tubes, Tune and you are set.

Later a cam and stall to take it to the next step. If you really start to push it, may want some bigger injectors/pump setup.

You are doing exactly what i want to do to mine (same truck). Its gonna be a long while till i get to that stage though. Id love to see how yours turns out.

+1

you should have the 14 bolt so you are set there. The transmission is pretty bullet proof but it all depends on the tune and obviously how you drive it. Going WOT from a dig and going up through the gears is a lot easier on it than going 55 and going WOT and it downshifting a couple gears.

I just put a Procharger D1SC on my 6.2 and am seeing close to 12psi on the 1-2 shift and around 10 after that at WOT. Don't have to much time on the motor yet with boost but I can tell you it get's driven like it stolen every time I take it out and it never misses a beat.

This advice is coming from a guy who bought the 1900. BUY THE 2300! A 1900 is great for a 5.3 but is too small for a 6.2

Thanks everyone! So 2300 it is... So how much could I push the stock bottom end with the 2300 and still maintain some reliability?

I'd shoot for around 8psi. With stock cam, maybe a 3.6" pulley. If you add a mild blower cam, you can go to a 3.4 and still be in the 8 to 9 psi range and be very safe with a good tune.

Keep in mind, unless Magnacharger has changed, the 2300 for a truck will require a custom tune. Which means no Magnacharger backing if something goes wrong in the tune for the engine or the 6L80.

I don't think 17psi and stock bottom end belong in the same sentence. I think someone must have been pulling your leg just a little bit.
