8.1 marine injectors flow rate ?
#14
You will need to set in grams per second if it is the same scale used in TunerCat.
1 lb/hr = .12599778 g/sec ~ .13 g/sec
as GMCtrk said the injectors are rated at 43.82 lb/hr at our rated fuel pressure of 58 psi.
43.82 lb/hr x 0.12599778 g/sec = 5.5212 g/sec
You put this value in all cells of:
Tables > Fuel Tables > Injector Flow Rate Vs. Vacuum
I just looked in an old tune file and I had mine set in all cells 0 to 80 Kpa to 5.359 gm/sec.
When I first got the tune from my Tuner he had it set
0 Kpa = 5.102 gm/sec
5 to 50 Kpa = 5.141 gm/sec
55 to 80 Kpa = 5.297 gm/sec
I am not really sure what his logic was but he is a known tuner and this was 5 years ago.
Once you have it set leave it and move on to tuning the VE Tables and then the MAF using the Stickies in the tuning section or elsewhere.
Watch out for tuning the VE in boost as you may go lean. Try bumping the 100 and 105 Kpa rows by 5 or 6 % in the Main Volumetric Efficiency Vs. RPM Vs. MAP Table.
You must have a WBO2 to monitor AFR and it will read behind so go easy.
Copy your Spark Adv. Vs Load Vs RPM, Open Throt, High Oct over your Low Oct table and reduce your spark timing above .72 gm/cyl to less than 10* until you get your VE tuned then you can set it back by monitoring for KR at WOT.
Remember you tune at your own risk and it may be fatal to the health of your engine. Take it slow.
