Default 8 rib crank pulley guys: Where are the 2 extra ribs?

on the innovators west or other 8 rib crank pulleys, are the 2 extra ribs in the front? This is my assumption but I want to be 100% sure.

wouldn't make sense to be on the back side of the pulley right?

The alternator pulley can't go back any further, so they have to be added to the front.

my buddy has the innovators west crank setup on his truck, but we found out the hardway the shaft of a vette powersteering pump is smaller than a truck power steering pump so thats still 6 rib.......no problem running 6 rib belt on the innovators west setup.

so yes DEFINETELY adds 2 ribs forward away from the block.

Hmmm............... Then the pics in this thread don't look right.

Looks like the 6 rib belt is centered on the 8-rib pulley so that the tensioner would have to be shimmed forward for an 8-rib setup.

Pulleyboys made the two extra ribs on all my pulleys on the outside (forward) edge. The power steering pulley they made me works great!

the vehicle I had experience with was an 03 avalanche with stock accessories with a LS2 based 402...but everything was forward, no shimming of the tensioner.
