I just got the rear end swap done last night. I put the gears out of a 420/430 garden tractor in. Now besides the hydro drive I have a low and high gear. Low is around 5mph high is around 12, its fast! Once I get the linkages I will have on the fly differential lock too!
Turbo will be on hold for a while as I am heading back to school.

I love to see these type of projects. It's a diesel so it's hard to hurt if you don't get the fueling stuff exactly right the first time.

man just do a motor swap. I got a case yard drive 80 that i put a honda 500cc 4 cylinder in. We took it up the gravel road and my buddy was on my 06 kfx 400 and couldnt keep up and it goes at least 70. I still had 2 gears to go.

Looks like a fun project Duwem!
Had problems with my little STX38 Hydro last year, thought about going chain drive rear engine for the drive, maybe a 250cc four stroke dirt bike engine and leave the 13hp Kohler to drive the blades.
Came to my senses and rebuilt the Hydro unit instead.
