I'm interested in doing this for my dad's 3cyl Kubota. I'll be watching.

I just got the rear end swap done last night. I put the gears out of a 420/430 garden tractor in. Now besides the hydro drive I have a low and high gear. Low is around 5mph high is around 12, its fast! Once I get the linkages I will have on the fly differential lock too!

Turbo will be on hold for a while as I am heading back to school.

Here are a few "launches"
Stock RPM is around 3100 for the diesel. I pegged the hydro, the third run I hit it hard. It gets to 12.5mph. This is the stock engine, no turbo.

That wet-looking stuff on your driveway must be traction compound, the way that thing hooks up!

Yeah, what the heck....AWD?!?!?!

I love to see these type of projects. It's a diesel so it's hard to hurt if you don't get the fueling stuff exactly right the first time.

man just do a motor swap. I got a case yard drive 80 that i put a honda 500cc 4 cylinder in. We took it up the gravel road and my buddy was on my 06 kfx 400 and couldnt keep up and it goes at least 70. I still had 2 gears to go.

Looks like a fun project Duwem!
Had problems with my little STX38 Hydro last year, thought about going chain drive rear engine for the drive, maybe a 250cc four stroke dirt bike engine and leave the 13hp Kohler to drive the blades.
Came to my senses and rebuilt the Hydro unit instead.
