Default Advice on turbo build

I am getting ready to finally start buying stuff to build my truck into something. It's been a couple of years since I've studied up on this stuff, so I could use some advice from the guys that know.

I ended up putting my old truck to semi-stock and selling it. It had a built 6.0L H/C 76mm Trick kit. It made 630whp/650wtq, and ran mid 11s. I am going to step it up on the new truck.

I found an old guy with a really nice burnt orange 01 Sierra RC step side 4wd with 50k miles and a slipping tranny, so I got it for dirt cheap. I already have everything in the truck to put a turbo kit on, so I"ll make a list.
6.0L Iron block
With my parts it is right over 9.2:1 It made ~330whp/350wtq the way it is N/A
Diamond pistons
H-beam rods
WCCH 317 heads
212/218-114 high lift Cam
Stock rockers with trunnion upgrade
FLT level level 4 4L80e with a big trans cooler
Circle-D ProIII 258mm 3000 stall
SS Silverado 14 bolt with 3.73 gears
Trick stage 3 hot pipes with a T4 flange
Hydroboost
E-fans

I picked up a nice A2W intercooler for cheap. I do work at a radiator shop every once in a while and have talked to them about tying a tank into the cold side of the AC to cool the water. We'll see if I just need to pick up a huge tank and heat exchanger or not.

I bought a Victor Jr. intake with fuel rails, but then started reading about them being hard to start when hot. This will be a DD, so I don't want that at all. I figured a newer truck intake with a 90mm TB would be good, but if there's something better I'm all ears.

I plan on getting 2 walbro 450 pumps and getting a newer tank with the bigger fuel bucket. I have bought a bunch of fittings for the fuel system to be -10 feed and return, but haven't found a regulator that is -10 yet. I am wondering if I need the almighty I.D.1300 injectors, or if the F.I.C. Black Ops injectors are as good for way less, or if there is something I don't know about that will work just as well.

I used to try to figure turbo maps out, but gave up. That being said, I would like to make around 1000whp with a little room to grow. I'm thinking an 80-88mm, but I don't know what I really need. I need to know where to call to get a turbo made to what I need. I've seen links over the years, but I can't find them any more.

If anyone sees anything I should change on my plans let me know. All help will be appreciated.

Here's the truck. I'm not 100% on the grill yet, I'm thinking about maybe painting it or getting a different one.

You will want a 80mm or larger for 1000rwhp. Yea you might could do it on a billet 76mm with some badass heads, but the 84mm borg s400 will make that power more easily. An 88mm will certainly do it, but you dont want more turbo that you must because it will not be as street friendly. Be prepared to push 23-25psi to get you there.

Plan on e85? If not, I highly recommend meth injection. The FIC bosch 127s are just fine. I have them and have made 1000rwhp with them at about 75% with dual walbro400s. Stock intake is fine, it is much easier to tune than the metal intakes, but doesnt look as cool.

A 1000rwhp DD is not a good idea in my opinion, be there done that. A 4bolt block at 1000rwhp will last decently if built well and tuned well, but keep in mind this is not a 100k mile setup and is not that friendly to drive around. Oh and be prepared to drive around on drag radials all the time if you want any chance of traction.

I'm hearing there are a couple of places that build BW turbos with billet wheels and different housings. I have only found a couple of places online, but haven't actually called anywhere yet to see if they know what their talking about.
By street friendly do you mean a lot of lag, or what?

The closest place that I know of with e85 is about 45 minutes from where I live, so it's not an option. I do plan on getting a good meth kit, but forgot to put it on the list earlier. I'll have to look around at the injectors again, because I've only scrolled through, I didn't really read that much.

I plan on going with about a 10 psi WG spring, and a good boost controller. At the tracks around here anything more than 650-700 they will kick me out for going to fast, so I will go and make a few passes and when I'm ready to go make a glory pass and leave.

I drove my old truck year round. Most of the year it was at 16 psi, winter was 8 psi. I live in Ohio where the roads are not good for about 4 months of the year. Cold plus salt and cinders sucks with any power, no matter what tires you have.

I don't think most people have any clue what 1000 hp is like on the street.

If you're serious about this truck for a street setup I would use a S476 billet with 92mm turbine. You want to maximize spool while still making power up top.

Yea, I agree. Call Jose at Forced Inductions and get one of his BW Billet V3 S476's with the 92mm turbine hot side with a 1.0 or 1.25 a/r T4 housing. That will make the power you want when turned and still run good and spool ok down low.

I just looked at their website. From what I remember from years ago, I planned on spending at least twice what that turbo costs. Well, I don't really have a budget, but I like that.

I realize I will be sacrificing some spool time down low, but the truck is pretty strong running like it is NA. I don't think I will have a huge problem with it coming in a little slower than my old truck did.

For the turbo you can buy it through LJMS.

That billet 476 in T4 config is going to be close to 2k
