IAT's are VERY important for performance. The hotter the air, the less dense it is and the less oxygen it has. Hence why everyone goes for their fastest times when its cold.

something isnt right..... a 10 second pass with a boltons truck isnt too impressive much less a turbo'd truck!!!!!!! even the 8.95 you ran before sounds pretty weak. something needs some attention BAD!

and ive always gone by the rule that 10* IAT difference = 1% power gain/loss

man.. it must be in my tune.. too bad I won't be able to drive to nelson's for another couple months..

It's getting pretty annoying being the slowest one at the track (and being the only truck running). Everyone here is thinking trucks CAN'T be fast, and I'm doing a good job of supporting that theory lol

after one run a guy came up to me and said that my truck looked nice, I said "thanks, I'm pretty disappointed in the times I'm running right now though" and he replies

"well.. it's a heavy truck"

I agree but he should figure out his problem now before adding meth. Truck should run a little better than that with what you have. figure out whats wrong then add meth. It will be a beast.

it probably has real conservative timing. mine was real slow in the heat until i started bumping the timing. just a few degrees made a huge improvement.

Wow... I just read this and just wanted to say I have an 03 5.3 RCSB 187K miles, tune only, on 22's and I ran a 9.08 a couple weekends ago. Your truck should perform WAY better than that I would hope, but to your original question I know I can feel a huge difference in the way my truck runs when its hot or cold.

Do you have a wideband? Boost and mail-order tune without a wideband is not a good idea IMO.
