in regards to the Ford GT500 SuperCar pump...
I called and spoke with Tim @ Modular Powerhouse this morning and he said that it would NOT work...same reason I mentioned above...
They don't even run them on older Mustangs that have return style, constant voltage systems...

the 044 is in-line
is the 040 the same as the 420 you mention?

I run the 044 pump. I made it fit the bucket so it goes in tank. I would actually tell others to run it external and inline with a regular in tank pump.

you know...I've thought of doing that before...
I mean...Walbro and others say that one of the main things that kill the pump is running the tank low...
well...who doesn't run the tank low? especially at the track where the pump is going to be pounded on the most?
I thought, well, if that IS the case then why not use an inline...in the tank...because obviously, the in-line pump doesn't have to be kept cool by fuel...EVER...so you wouldn't have to be concerned with whether you have to cut up the bucket or not either...
AND...the 044 outflows the 040...which IS the case w/ most in-line pumps vs their in-tank counterparts...sounded like a win/win...glad to see someone has tried it!
Rick...how did you fit a sock or filter to the in-tank mounted, in-line pump?

I had read that same advice elsewhere...I just don't like the idea of feeding it with another...just me...I like the way you did it better...did you take any pics Rick?

These are inline fuel pumps, we recommend they be installed between the factory (or another aftermarket) in-tank fuel pump, and the fuel rail. These may be installed in the fuel tank, but some custom fabrication will usually be required. In addition, feeding these inline pumps with another pump (in series), will boost the output of the Bosch 044 fuel pump even higher.

Since its in the bucket, I never run my tank pass 1/4 low. Not worth it. I just fit the pump so it sits pretty close to the bottom of the bucket when placed in the tank. Sorry for no pics, but I dont like to take pics of my work, too lazy.

same here

just curious how you filtered the inlet and what you ran from the outlet to tie into the stock fuel line...
I've seen a few write-ups where they used a bulkhead AN fitting on the hanger...then adapted from AN to stock...
