Default Attention Whipple Owners-My truck won't start!!!

i have a 2004 chevy 5.3 with whipple. i have been getting a knock sensor code(po332) with the whipple program installed. i wasn't sure if it had something to do with the whipple program so i installed by stock program and cleared the code. after about 50 miles with the stock program installed it set the code again. when it sets the code i'm going about 60mph under less the 25% throttle postion after the truck has been running for 10 mins or so. i took the truck to my dealer to have them check out the code. they ran a couple of test to check the voltage to the sensor and it was a little low. we decided to check for any updates from gm and installed them. we cleared the code and i drove it for about 30 miles and it set the code again. so i parked the truck(it snowed) for about 3 weeks. so today i took it out cleared the code and was going to install the whipple program again. i plugged in the programmer after removing the fuses whipple says to remove when reprogramming and selected the whipple program and it began to load the program. after about 5 mins i check the programmer and it said ERROR 85. i turned off the ignition and removed the programmer and plugged it back in to try it again. it asked if i wanted to install stock program so i said yes, same thing happened! now the truck will not start at all. did i lose the stock program or did it just not complete the program install. has anyone esle ever seen an ERROR 85 on their whipple programmer? any help would be great. thanks. spdfrk

does it turn over at all? sounds like you may have lost your tune and now the passlock system is not letting you start the truck. maybe i'm wrong. google passlock and see if you can find a way to make the truck start by resetting it. i'm drunk right now so i can't remember how to do it exactly.

no, it won't turn over at all. when you turn the key on the radio, headlights etc all work but when you turn key to start the lights go out and nothing happens almost like battery is not making a good connection.

Sounds like the program got corrupted in the middle of the transfer. If it won't load the stock tune in, you might be kind of hosed. I've had that happen using HP Tuners, in the middle of flashing a tune it loses connection, and boom, no start. In my case, I was able to fool with my connections, and it finally loaded the tune. Obviously, you could call Whipple on Monday, but I've heard their customer service sometimes sucks. If this is a newer Whipple kit without all their previous add on elcetronic ****, you might try to call Waitforme and get another pcm and tune for your combination. That might be the cheapest way to go to get another tuned pcm to have as a spare.

get it to the dealer i guess and have them flash it. you must have lost your tune.

THEN, ditch that whipple tuner and get a realy tune from a real tuner, IF there is one in your area. If not, then get a mail order tune.
