I'd personally like to have a daily driven 10.0:1 408 with 8psi that I can pulley down to 12psi for the track. Something rather important in a choice like that is your choice of how you're going to make the boost. What device is going to move the air?

Before was 9.4:1 SCR, got detonation at about 6 psi. It's being rebuilt to somewhere between 9.0 and 9.25:1.

One possibility that was brought up for the detonation I'm having is the lack of heat removal allowed by the stock exhaust manifold I have on one side and the log manifold on the other. Those, combine with the LS6 and/or 5.3 heads (I tried both), could have cause detonation at low boost levels. I thought it was weird that I could see almost 10 psi on a stock motor with the Radix with no detonation but only about 6 with the built one. This would explain that.

I have been recommended to use a set of 317 heads from this point forward. Apparently they are better flowing on the exhaust side and will be more efficient at removing heat from the combustion chamber, so should be better for detonation.

Are you changing cams while you're doing this?

Yep I'll be running a 218/224-ish cam on a 114 LSA I believe.
