I ran gatorback on my HD and never had an issue, even with a RR Ultra Grip 2.8" pulley. No slip, no squeel, maybe I was luvky.

well thanks for the input everyone..I originally had a Gates on my setup..I swapped pulleys and decided to put a new belt back on it. I went with the Gatorback, i heard they were good belts and slipped very little..I didnt have the thing for two months and it frayed apart on me. I checked all my pullies and made sure the alignment was right and put my gates back on i had took off...Its been two months now and i have had no problems out of it. I took the Gatorback belt back and they said it had to be an anlignment problem, if it was wouldnt the other belt be messed up by now?

I have a gates right now but some people told me that the gatorback is better, now many of you guys say that the gates is better than the gatorback, now I`m confused LoL

It's another one of those things.... Ask 10 people what is the best oil you'll get 6 different replies.

When I replace my belt, between gates and gatorback, I'm going with which ever is cheapest.

This is what I have found so far:

Gatorback=Grips better

Gates=last longer

Gatorbacks are too thin. Even though they grip nicely they are not robust enough to turn a blower int he long haul, in my opinion. No gatorback I ever ran lasted more than one month. I had the most success with Dayco Polycog belts. They are stronger than the Goodyears and grip well enough.
(Just to give everyone an idea of how much force I had on these belts, I broke three water pumps, 6 belt tensioners, 2 idler pulleys, and sheard the pulley bolts off the supercharger twice.) Dayco belts are the only ones that survived. Gatorbacks stretch more and snapped like a rubber band.
