Default Best header for Supercharger...

I'm wondering what's the all around best way to go in choosing headers for a supercharged application. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 5.3L E85 w/ 4L60E and G80. The supercharger would be a twin screw design or the soon to be released Eaton TVS. Would a shorty header be better or would a long tube be better? I want to increase torque, not so much horsepower because I need to get the truck moving quickly and torque is what I need.

short tubes are good for nothing but looks or emissions

get the longtubes, pacesetters are a good deal or shell out the dough for some dynatechs or stainless works

Long tube but it might be a long wait on that tvs unit.
Don't waste your $$ (like I did) on shorty's if you can, and as far as torque, your going to have more than enough with the tvs

I like the Stainless Works Longtubes and their y-pipe. The extra time before the TVS comes out gives me more time to work more and save up more money. I wanna invest is parts that will help the supercharger, not hurt it of course. Get the "little" things done then the supercharger will be last.

Understood.
Look around the site then, check the drag racing list and the dyno list and do some searching, you will find quite a few guys running successful setups with the roots type superchargers.

I haven't done any extensive research or anything, but from what little I have seen it has got me wondering if the TVS will be almost too much blower for a 5.3L ???

If you're looking to take care of the "little" things prior to going blown, my recommendation is to take care of your transmission first. If you don't want to go with a fully built unit you should atleast upgrade to a better torque converter, a bigger tranny cooler, a deep trans fluid pan and some internal work like a shift kit and billet servos. That will provide some added insurance and the peace of mind that your tranny won't take a dump shortly after you go FI...

I plan to address the trans, rearend, exhaust, brakes, etc... I know the TVS is a big blower no doubt, but from what I understand the TVS 1900 will be more than enough for my needs even when I do plan to go for more cubes even though there is the TVS 2300. I plan to keep the boost low until I can invest in a stronger long block and to upgrade to a completely built FLT 4L80E. I know once the TVS comes out in kit form and I get my hands on one my addiction to boost is going to begin, i just hope I have a big enough bank account to go along with it haha

Sounds like a realistic plan. I am also looking forward to the release of the tvs head units...
