Anyone else have an opinion about mandrel bends? I see where it may be "restrictive". I have a friend that has a Mazda Speed Protege and they do not come with mandrel bends from the factory. Just wondering how important it really is. I know there is someone on here that has done it. Thanks for the info guys.

Ok. Thanks. Anyone have anything to say about just bending it using a regular pipe bender at an exhaust shop?

global tech engineering is the cheap stainless site i mentioned but didnt have a name for. they have literally thousands of different bends. as far as regular exhaust bender. my opinion i think it looks cheap. a nicely welded or welded and ground smooth mandrel sectioned piece looks much better and im sure performs marginally better.

I have purchased from Columbia River and Global Tech both are great and pretty well priced. I wish I could find the yahoo.com store I bought really cheap bends from years ago though...

ive actually been planning to make a mandrel bender for some time. ranging in size up to 5" .. only thing holding me back is finding the hydraulic motor and switch valve assembly from doing it

most places wont mandrel bend piped larger than 4" cause they will crinkle or whatnot. but ive fisgured out the solution

until then. jegs gets my vote. they ship faster than anyone around!

so the dies are no problem for you? what exactly is your solution? come down here for a week and we will build two of them.. one for me and one for you lol hydraulic motor and switch valve or electric motor shouldn't be that bad imo.
