GT91 and 408 here and I love it. At 18 lbs it ran what I never expected and I don't even think i'm close to maxing it out. If I build another engine It will be a 427 lsx with this turbo.

but small engine big turbo makes some pretty beastly track setups whereas I would prefer bigger engine/ smaller turbo for a street truck.
Guess I should add that I'd LOVE to have an lsx block big inch engine. If you're not using it as a DD, planning on lasting for years of commuting, then I think a 403/408 would be worth looking at, especially if you want that gt91. I'm not saying strokers aren't reliable, if a decent guy put it together, it will last just fine. However, I've talked to guys that use their truck to commute everyday and put 150+ miles on it per day that want to go with a big stroker engine, probably not ideal there. E85 is probably plentiful down there as it is here in MN? If so, don't be afraid to keep the compression up around 10:1 or so depending how much boost you want. It's great stuff

I don't drive it everyday. I'm running E85 now. I can do a stroker with my current engine and maybe keep the costs down some. I just don't want to spend a ton on an engine that won't perform with this turbo.

If you are set on that turbo, honestly I don't think you would be happy with anything smaller than a 402/408 in that crew cab.

Well, my 2cents, you are probably not going to come close to using the full potential of that turbo unless you put a lot of change into a good block....o-ringing, 6 bolt heads, partial filled block, etc etc and you will just end up with a laggy turbo and blown engine. Sure guys run them all the time on just basic LQ4s, but that doesnt mean its ideal, or even good.

Let me put it this way, I have a pt88 right now on my 402 and want to step down to a smaller turbo like the GT80, still aiming for 800hp.

Sounds like you're longing for your old blower. Why don't you guys just swap PT88 for TVS2300 and call it good? Everyone goes home happy. lol

If you are spending that kind of money why not go with an 454LSX or an RHS block...

Good price too
