Default Big Fuel FI guys...

... has anyone thought about dumping the fuel back into the filler neck versus screwing with the tank?

... I'm thinking an in-line... with a return back through the filler hose... easy, quick, and no tank droppy...

I'm not sure, but don't they make the return line so that it stays submerged to keep the fuel from getting aerated?

i made mine dump the fuel back into my basket since the pumps suck it down fast but i dont have all my fuel being taken from the baskets anyway. but if your going to convert your 06 returnless to a return why not do it right and just drop the tank imo its not all that hard.

My thought is to pull fuel through the Magnuson in-tank pump I have (that is pressure regulated) to an inline pump. I would then feed this inline pump to the rails with an FPR return back to the filler neck. I am just trying to think of a way to not drop the tank. I dropped the tank to install the Maggie fuel pump so I know what is involved. Is it a big deal? No... not when the tank is near empty. Just thinking "out of the box". I would rather modify a filler neck than a fuel tank bulkhead / sending unit assembly if I can. I have done a "series" fuel system in a C5 to well over 800rwhp... so I know they work.

Just thinking for now... and I support ALL opinions!

Thanks

Bill

I don't see why dumping back into the filler wouldn't work.

You might end up getting more vapors in the tank, and MIGHT (very small chance imo) get an emissions system light, but since you're boosted already, I'm not sure how that works with the stock check engine light.

Good thought. I don't plan on messing with fuel vapor recovery system and hope that it would be sufficiant. One thing I have been thinking about is coming up with an insert that will be as large or slightly larger in diameter to accomodate the dump without causing any sort of backup when I try to fill the tank at the gas station... should be pretty easy

I looked at these before. Memory is a little foggy, but I think I had some concerns with the EVAP system/fuel system design, along with returning heated fuel to the tank, etc. Primarily, I preferred to have the return help maintain a full reservoir/bucket.

This is a Moroso kit. Summit # MOR-65385 This one might be a little large(2") for our applications.
