Default Blow off valve?

This is for a co-worker with a vortec charger on his gay mustang. He wasn't getting any help on his ford forums so I thought I would ask the experts. He is considering putting a BOV and was curious if anything was needed beyond mounting it between the charger and the throttle body. Also the car in manual now but soon will become automatic. With the auto will the BOV play much of a role since you don't close the throttle like you do no a manual?

Install BOV run vacuum/boost reference line to intake manifold. Simple as that

I hate mustangs with a pasion. That is why it is gay. This one is actualy respectable because should run low 10s but I still don't like it.

So you do need a boost referance hose but that seems pretty simple. Do you just change the spring to decide at what pressure it blows off at? I know these things are simple but want to make sure I tell him correctly.

you need a vacuum reference..
when the throttle shuts really fast theres vacuum in the intake and boost in the charge pipe.. the vacuum opens the blowoff valve to releave the pressure in the charge pipes.

just have him run the procharger big red race valve. i never had to adjust anything and no springs to mess with. just hook up the vacuum/boost reference and youre pretty much good to go. is he running an IC? If so, procharger recommends putting the valve between the head unit and the IC.

No intercooler for now. He does plan to add an intercooler down the road.

If he has a MAF, its easier to put it before the MAF sensor. Otherwise, you need to plump in a recirculating type BOV.

Before the maf for sure if he isn't running SD. Just make sure that the valve is far enough away from the maf that it doesn't cause any skewed readings at the sensor, which is one main reason I assume that procharger suggests putting the valve closer to the head unit than that intake. I'm more than happy with the procharger valve, and I believe vortech makes one too. They're more geared to the centrifugal blowers than a turbo setup.
