blower belt fell off
Well im fortunate this never ever happened on my previous supercharged vehicles, but it did happen today. Floored it for two seconds and let go since a car jumped into my lane, and thats when everything went off, power steering, alternator, and water pump. Pulled aside and shut the car, water temp rose quickly to about 110degrees Celcius, but that was it. Belt was sitting inside my engine bay, it didnt break just fell off.
Will put it back tomorrow, but im trying to understand one thing, since this is the first time it ever happens in the 6000miles I drove the truck, does this mean it will happen again? Also any suggestions on preventing this from happening?
FYI, I have a 6-rib 108inch DAYCO belt.

anyway to prevent this?
I came up with an idea, I will jack up the idle airflow in the tune at high rpms so the throttle doesnt shut completely that quick and will instead keep some momentum, thats what my ZR1 used to do.
Any mechanical way to prevent this? Any point in switching to an 8rib and an HD tensioner?

I could really use that you know
on a side note im buying a 2012 5.3 and slapping a KB racing turbo kit, with everything ceramic coated and so on, it would be SICK and I will do that with the mileage at zero and everything brand new, trying to test the market for turn key modified vehicles

is it worth upgrading to an HD tensioner? im stepping down from a 3.2" pulley to a 3.1" pulley for a short while, which should give me 0.5 to 0.75psi of boost until I figure out my damn fuel system!
