Blower belt info
Just ran across this on the internet, not sure if it's true or not, but if it is, nice to see this kind of technology going into Gates belts:
"I run the "new" version of the Gates green stripe. Look for a small grey dot with a red check inside of it. These belts have a new composition that actually gets sticky like an R compound tire when hot"

Cool. Maybe that wouldl have kept me from throwing the one that flew off a month or so ago.
It tore up the underhood pad and made a mess of things in general. $50 for the pad, then there's the new belt and last but NOT least the tow truck back to town... and...AND... the Friday night wasted!!!! (when you get into your 50's you begin to realize that you probably just don't have that many days left to go so each one becomes more valuable. Now that I'm into my 63rd year each day is precious. I just raise hell when the Dr. makes me wait an hour... make a scene asking how are you going to pay me back for this afternoon out of my life! I love doing that!! )

So that's the difference with those belts. I have been using the Goodyear gatorback poly V belts from Summit. The Gates green stripe micro V, I have only found in limited sizes from Vortech. Where do you buy yours? By the way, every time I have lost a belt it ultimately is caused by an alignment problem - flexing bracket, bent idler, loose pulley bolt.

Dammit..... forgot to get the spacer machined! I knew there was something else I wanted to talk to the machinist about. No time now so I'll get them installed after we get done and I'm back in town.
