Product Properties Sheet

Manufacturer

Quadrant

Product Catagories

Bearing and Wear
Nylon
Cast

Type 6, Solid lubricant filled, Cast

Best bearing and wear nylon product available today. Proprietary type 6 nylon formulation produced using Quadrant's Monocast® process. Solid lubricant additives impart self-lubricating, high pressure/velocity and superior wear resistance characteristics. Nylatron NSM was developed specifically for demanding applications where larger size parts are required. It is ideal for bearings, gears and wear pads. In wear applications, Nylatron NSM lasts up to 10 times longer than standard Type 6 nylon.

Well...googling gets ya...

Nylatron NSM is a proprietary type 6 nylon formulation using DSM's proprietary Monocast process with introduction of solid molybdenum lubricant additive to impart self-lubrication at high pressure and velocity. This is the best bearing and wear resistant nylon formulation available. Nylatron NSM will last up to 10 times longer than standard type 6 Nylon.
Seems a good ingredient to use to make plastic (nylon) gears, bearings, and such. How'd you come about this question Mr. "I need more parts in my garage"?

NYLATRON: Nylatron proprietary formulations ( GSM, GSM-Blue, NSM ) contain solid lubricants that impart toughness, low coefficient of friction, and good abrasion resistance and make it an ideal replacement for a wide variety of materials from metal to rubber. It weighs only 1/7 as much as bronze. Using Nylatron reduces lubrication requirements, eliminates galling, corrosion, pilferage problems, and improves wear resistance and sound dampening characteristics. Nylatron is an excellent replacement for bronze bushings and is also commonly used for gears, sheaves, sprockets, wheels, wear pads, slide pads, thrust washers, and FPSO bushings.
