Default Blown Denali XL Version 2.0

Well, after much wrangling about potentially having a duramax escalade built, I finally gave up on that and bought a 2007 DenaliXL today, with plans to put a magnacharger on it, just like we did on our 2003 DenaliXL back in 2004. That MP112 unit has been absolutely bulletproof for over 120,000 km now, but the rest of the vehicle is starting to fail a bit at 154,000km. Heat seats not always working, windows getting sticky when closing, etc, normal wear and tear stuff.

At any rate, I am a bit out of the loop as to the difference between a TVS 1900 and a TVS 2300. The dealer who did the install back in 2004 will likely be called upon to do this one as well. I was quoted $6200 for a TVS2300 and $1800 for the install afternoon. I am likely not going to go with the headers this time, as they are a $2500 touch, and I am not sure if they are worth the bang for the buck.

At any rate, I would appreciate the experience of other TVS owners as to what has worked and not worked. I am hoping the stock 403 hp goes up to around 550 hp after the install, but maybe this is a wee bit hopeful.

By the way, I picked up a 2007 DenaliXL, mostly loaded, with only 30,000 km and it has been upgraded with a Magnaflow Exhaust, and K&N air intake already.

SCYukon

p.s for anyone in Alberta or nearby, there will soon be a well taken care of Magnacharged 2003 Denali XL with 154,000 km on it for sale for a REALLY good price.

Oh well. 41 views and no thoughts. I must say the search feature mostly spits out "Whipple vs TVS 2300 - which is better" and Turbo vs Supercharger peeing contests. Unlucky.

2300 it is, as that is all the dealers around here seem to install. And the headers look to only add 20 hp so will save the $2500. Night all.

If you dont plan to go crazy with it then a TVS1900 would be just fine. Should get you up to 10psi or so with a 1900. Damn thats one expensive install, it is a very straight forward install with the directions Magnacharger provides.

That is the price that people with little to no mechanical ability must pay. My wife is always amazed if my vehicle runs after putting in a cold air intake, so that shows where I am at. Although I did take apart and reassemble a door panel on the Escalade one time......

Long story short - it is my wife's daily driver, and our tow vehicle, so I need to make sure it runs correctly. I did note though the magnacharger instructions suggested that 8 hours should suffice. But with dealers charging in the neighborhood of $150/hour these days, does not take too long to get to $1800.

I'd go with the 1900 in your case......

Thanks. Found a good discussion on this issue on the Camaro forum as well. Seems to be two distinct camps of thought.

my local performance shop at the dealer only charger me 1200 for the install of my whipple. $2500 seems quite steep.

Actually the cost is $1800, so the difference is a bit more palatable. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I think it was $1800 for the install..... still a lot but that's the downside of living in a place where most jobs are still secure I guess.

What dealership are you talking about Blowndenalixl? and do they cover your behind on warranty after they soak you for the install? That alone could very easily be worth $1800.

Wow just read that, I now feel stupid after reading everyones repetitive questions. What is so hard to get about them being the same exept the 2300 is one rib longer.
