Default Boost Creep Need Help.

Well i got in it a little bit tonight and the boost goes up to 14psi on less than WOT. I have a 10psi spring in there. I'm WTF. it has never went that high. I hit it again and my friend said it spiked at 20psi. I searched on here and LS1truck. It looks like i need to pull a part the Waste gate and see if it's plugged or something. Just so you know it's a MP70mm with .96 a/r. I Any help would be great. And if yall need more info let me know.

turbo location? waste gate brand? age of components, and reference point would help me out. Also are you using any other "boost controller" or just the gate spring?

What he's asking is where is the reference/hose that goes to the waste gate coming from...usually comes from the back of the intake so the waste gate knows how much boost pressure is in the intake manifold. Also what type of line did you use?

Thats where mine is. It runs behind the intake straight down to the waste gate. Its 1/4" rubber heater hose. I read in someones thread that the rubber hose might not be the best way to go. I will check the hose and make sure that it looks good, or should i just go ahead and replace it for safety's sake.

If this is the first time you have seen this issue. Look at the vaccum and taken the gate off is the first steps. If the line touched a hot part or has a hole rubbed in it, could be the problem. You will need to take the hose completely out and inspected it for leaks. Waste gate is simple just a few bolts and its out. If the hose looks good and nothing wrong with the gate being plugged/stuck, then you will need to take the gate apart and see if the diaphram is bad.
You can also use regualtor shop air @ 10 psi and pressurize the bottom port and see if you can push the valve in and out. Might just be a stuck valve.?

Is your reference line going to the top or bottom port on the gate?

Reference line is connected to the bottom of the gate. Isn't the top for a controller?

Thanks for all the help so far i will be pulling it off and will post up the verdict.

I would inspect that rubber hose like Trick suggested but even if it's fine take the damn thing off and use a better hose.
