Default boost vs compression/ring gap/heat

i have a 10.5:1 408 with .019 top and .021 2nd ring gaps. the kenne bell blower runs around 30-40* above ambient IAT cruising temps with no hood lol. I do not have the meth injection hooked up yet. What range boost should i consider MAX.

What fuel? What cam specs. Kind of a open ended question, timing means a lot.

Pump 93 with as much meth as it takes. Dont want to run e85 due to availability. Cam is a 226/246 .629/.629 118+4

I planned to run up to 14lbs with an LSA TVS1900 on 10.2:1 no meth on 91, also with a 408. I think she is a little looser. like .022 and .026 gaps, I didnt do the gapping but I have the spec somewhere from the shop

Now it'll prob get a turbo and I'll run just enough to break the trans/diff in the car lmao

Whether it has any merit, my tuner tries to stay around 12lbs on pump on LS motors. He has done a lot more, upwards of 22 in once instance I know of, but he says he prefers less boost and more timing vs more boost and less timing. Im not a tuner, I cant speak to the merit of that

What do your IATS do at wide open is the real question. Based on that info I think I would stop at 12psi or so depending how your iats are. The meth won’t cool much on that setup but the octane will help.

I am 9.98-1 CR and 18psi 93/meth, soon to be E85

For most setups 10-12psi is the most boost I recommend without meth on pump gas.

I'm more worried about the ring gap than the compression.

I'll run as much meth as it takes. I have a single 1000cc holley meth injector wired through an injector driver. I considered a 2nd injector so i can run up to 32gph meth if i needed to. I'm currently at 15lbs boost on straight 93 after some PRC heads. Before the new heads I have tickled 18lbs on stock ls3 heads. I havent logged a good WOT pass yet. I typically go for short bursts but at some point I'll nut up and stay in the throttle for a full run. I'm still working some driveline bugs.

I have seen 150 IAT cruising on a good hot texas day. I've upgraded the cooling system since then though. last weekend i was seeing 103-105 IAT on a 70* day with the hood off doing 80mph down the highway. it's hot . The tune is set to start pulling timing at 145* MAT.

Hold my beer and watch this. Jeez

ring gap will be fine as long as it doesn’t knock.
