boost vs compression/ring gap/heat
#22
don't know what my stock bottom 2000 LS1 gaps are, but i've got 10.6:1 now, if i remember right, and running 12-13 psi with a 231/248 120+5° cam. it's on pump 93. can't remember how much timing, but it's a little less than at 10psi because we ended up pulling the balancer again to fix the main seal, so i went ahead & grabbed an OD & made another 3psi.

Boost spike over 20PSI while tuning it. I wasn't present at the time it happened.... The pump gas in it was also old. I had just put 80Lb injectors on it just prior to this
Mileage had to be over 150K, Barely any crosshatch left. #2 and #4 cam bearings had the oil hole's restricted and I didnt like the wear on a few of the lifters.
I rebuilt it with a light hone, 2 used rods and pistons, all new gaskets, new seals, new cam bearings, New Lifters, an XR269HR (comp 54-414-11) cam I had laying around and LS6 valve springs.

so it had pre ignition and bent a rod.

Most likely. It also needs different plugs.
Bent #2 and #7 rods across the pin Axis around .050-.060 allowing the crank counter weight to come in contact with the pin boss on the Bottom of the piston.
When the twins light off, they spool hard
