I have a TIAL 50mm. I had compressor surge, so I opened it up and it had the stiffest spring TIAL offered.... -12psi (-24in/Hg) The pink spring.

I said screw that, and bought a "knockoff" -5psi spring on eBay for 10 bucks and now I have completely eliminated all of my surge. It works perfect too. I don't cringe everytime I take my foot off the gas now.
The fact that its a "knockoff" makes me chuckle. It's a coil of wire.... Don't need TIAL branding on that.

I have my vacuum reference off the brake booster line. Its a long hose to the BOV. My next step was to find a closer nipple to reference from for fast reaction time, but its not necessary.

Vortech Race Bypass Valve on my kit. Works great, zero compressor surge. A bypass valve has a lighter spring than a blow-off valve so it's open ealier (anything more than 5" vacuum and it's open). Pops off anytime I'm accellerating or have my foot more than a 1/4 throttle into it and I suddenly let off.

Sorry no sound clips but it does sound great. Mangled03GMC is running the same one. I think he has some video posted.

I have a Greddy RS on the truck now. I have no compressor surge, and its really loud when it blows. I have a piece of rag ziptied to mine as a muffler.
