Default Can this setup run boost....

Hey everyone

My 99 has an lq9 in it, fully bolted. Currently undergoing a t56 swap, but I was looking into adding some forced induction this winter. MY 06 cc has a tvs 1900 running 9 psi, and would love to run a maggie on this truck to, but i know my cam is way to large to even consider one UNLESS I swap cams(which im not 100% apposed to doing)

Here is my list of parts from TSP when i did the lq9(stock bottom end)

SO my question is, is my setup to much compression to run boost...

With this setup can i do a blower cam swap and get another tvs, which is the setup i would like the most

or

keep it all the same(if it will work) and run a kb or trick turbo setup....

sorry for all the ...... but my question mark doesnt work lol

Why do you think your cam is too big for a maggie? With my clacs, you are sitting around 11.6:1 compression which is pretty damn high for any kind of boost. You could get away with 6 lbs probably but at that point, is it even worth the expense?

If you could find some heads with a 70cc+ chamber, you would be much better off.

Atomic ran a high compression and blower setup for awhile and i believe liked it before he went the turbo route..
If i were you id do one of two things, get thicker gaskets to bring you around 11:1 area, add a small quick spool turbo and boost what you have with 8psi and the t56 would be fun.
Or still get the thicker gaskets, change the cam and get a blower with 8lbs would make for very fun ride also.. just my 2cents, Could always just slap a procharger on there to, but i like the other two options better..
Doesnt matter what you do really, good tuning and octane will determine how well whatever setup you choose works..

Get it to10.5- 11:1 and run rhe maggie. Roots blowers are way more efficient than turbos at low boost.

I was hoping i could do it without removing heads, but t looks like thats my best route. If i have to remove the heads to do gaskets, i might as well jut swap to a head that will be more boost friendly tho right?

I always thought with a aggresive cam it wouldn't work well for the power of a Maggie, am i wrong?

If i could just run a Maggie as is, thas exactly what I'd do. Truck is driven mate 2000km a year, so long term use really isn't a factor. You guys think it would be doable?

I really appreciate the help

With you setup as is, I think I would run a centrifugal over a positive displacement supercharger to keep the low rpm cylinder pressures down some. That cam is going to bleed off some cylinder pressure and bring the DCR down a good bit (which is more important than SCR). If you are set on a Maggie, I would consider doing a head swap with larger cc chambers and a more boost friendly cam. You can do it as is but tuning and fuel will be the key for it to live.

What procharger charger setup should i consider? I've done alot of turbo research, and know about Maggie's, but fairly green about centi blower options.
