Default cats on sts

is eneyone running no cats with sts? is this a good idea, is it to loud, just trying to make a dis. by the weekend.

No cats here, and yes it is louder. A lot louder! You will be cop paranoid for certain. A resonator or large muffler after the turbo would take care of the increased noise without affecting flow.
I did notice a spool difference, it got a little better and felt stronger as well. Never had dyno before or after results though.

drop the cats and add a high flow muffler in front of the turbo.

would a flowmaster 40 work, or stay away from the chamber style?

no chambers... and stay away from anything with packing inside it... wouldnt want to have any of that **** blow out and get into the turbo impeller...

yep. Put maggie bullets in front of the turbo. As long as the muffler doesn't drop the flow, it won't hurt your performance, and may actually help with spool times

My beast is back to stealth mode baby. Sounds like a catback only

BTW, if you leave the cats on you don't need a muffler. An alternate might be high flo cats, but I'd worried about chunking them and sending chunks back trough the turbine. I have cats for inspections / test pipes for the rest of the time for mine.

I finally got rid of mine today, and yes it is louder but tuning is nearly impossible with the cats in place. I think I will put my 40 flowmaster after the turbo.
